Approximately 28 crores rural Indians are trapped in dire poverty, facing numerous challenges due to the severe degradation of ecosystems, heightened susceptibility to climate change, and excessive reliance on unproductive agriculture as their primary source of livelihood.
Impact of Climate Change and Ecosystem Degradation in Rural India
Unsustainable agricultural practices, a dearth of livelihood opportunities, inadequate infrastructure, as well as health and education deficiencies.
Consequently, this has resulted in a significant exodus of rural populations towards urban areas in pursuit of better prospects.

HOW VANARAI WORKS?
Vanarai believes in having a need-based approach, where people’s participation & Environmental well-being is always central to everything that we do. We use the tool of IEC (Information, Education & Communication) at every stage of an activity/project in order to create the desired attitude for us to witness the anticipated impact/output. This happens in a continuous manner where our main aim is to Create Sustainable Rural Development, this in turn creates sustainable villages.
